Named "Best Bluesman" in Westword Best of Denver, April 4, 2002:

"For a city of its size, Denver comes up short on compelling, cliche-free blues acts. But David Booker sings a different song. He's moved crowds here for decades, thanks to an eye for great material and supporting players -- not to mention a voice that wraps around standards like a sharkskin scarf. Add in his car-salesman/street-huckster persona, and you've got the finest bluesman about town."

Here at last is the new modified, expanded, corrected (as best we can) and generously illustrated version of what once was just called plainly "my story." It is a sketch of my activities, in words and pictures, from birth up until present times. Many sidebar stories are yet to be told..and maybe they will be written one day...some of this is not pretty, just keep on reading You see...(click on the title below)

  • News worthy stuff...I'm in 3 books that are out now via www.manchesterbeat.com. The first volume (entitled Manchester Beat Volume 1) deals with Manchester bands of the early to mid-60s. Yes, I've been around the block a time or two. You can actually order a copy of this book from the publisher on the website. It's a big thing for Anglophiles—a piece of Manchester Rock History, and remember Manchester is on the Mersey too. I was in many bands in Manchester during this very active period in music. Some of my bands are not there but the well known ones are. I think you will find them a fun read; just go to the website to get a glimpse of what it was like in Manchester in the 60s onwards! www.manchesterbeat.com

  • Volume 3 of the Manchester Beat series is now out . Features a 26 page chapter on my escapades in the 60's 70's and early 80's before re-locating to Denver co USA.
